When I try to install it, it times out saying "Failed sending data to the peer". Anyone know a solution?

If it persists, run flatpak remote-delete flathub and flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo.

it actually worked, that's a surprise as it usually gets stuck.

also doing fine, just wanted to get wine and bottles so I can use windows programs more easily.

Also before I close post, question about the software manager itself, sometimes when searching for an app on it there will be multiple versions of it on there, like for GIMP which made it hard to find the right one. Is there any to filter out the others or?

I don't use the Software Manager often, nor do I think there is. I think that can only be done through the command line.
