So is it normal to see a .ssh folder in your home directory even if you’ve never used it? From what I could tell command folders only show up when you use a command for like logs and stuff but I’ve never used ssh before. The folder is empty I only used the man command on ssh but never ran the command itself so that might be why but I’m not sure

You may have configured something relevant to it. Otherwise, I'm not sure why would that be.
If you wouldn't mind, I guess the .bash_history would help in this case.
Usually is ok to have it. It keeps track of host keys for VMs or something you may have used in the past.
I don't see one, but if you don't mind, just turn off view of hidden objects then. (ctrl-h)
