tlp would set the sane defaults for your device. As per documentation, there's no inherent need to configure it further, unless you want a fine grain management of your power settings.

I suggest setting a max frequency for your CPU and GPU, if that's available. Also, manage your radio devices (BL, Wi-Fi) to your preferred settings.
Please be reminded though that tlp is best used alone. Mint ships power-profiles-daemon and managed through powerprofilesctl. You may want to remove that first.
Otherwise, that will result in a conflict.
