Updating Mint 21.3 has now made it unbootable, bios cannot detect any operating system, any ideas how to resolve this?

That sounds awful. I need to confirm something for you real quick, the problem underwent successfully? Aside this, of course.

Regardless, get yourself a live media. Back your files up just in case of the worst-case scenario.
From there, attempt to boot repair as well. There's a software for that, see if that goes.
If that doesn't go through, if you have a snapshot, revert to that.
Otherwise, as a last resort, proceed with the re-installation.

Resolved this by changing the SATA cable!
