I have recently installed Linux mint and so far i have done all the updates in the update manager, i also chose the nvidia drivers (recommended) in the driver manager, i have a rtx 3080.

When i try to launch Team Fortress 2 on steam, my main monitor simply turns off until i unplug the display port in and out of the gpu.
I also tried call of duty modern warfare 2 (original game) it says on protondb it should be working either with proton or some of the 3rd party client

both game give no error when trying to run them they just open up and close.

minecraft on prism flatpak also used to give me an error but after reinstalling prism launcher it now works.

Are your game files in your Linux hdd or a windows formatted hdd?

A) disable the iGPU, assuming you aren’t on a Laptop
B) regarding the TF2 issue, this is an X11 bug and can be caused by a mismatched framerate being used by TF2. Either add the refresh rate of your display via -refresh xx -freq xx (where xx is your monitors refresh rate) or try running TF2 through gamescope.
