#Issue on unallocated space

What partition are you resizing to take up that Unallocated Space?
my /sda4, or the whole Linux partition for that matter
This setup looks pretty confusing to me, wait a minute.
ok
you have to resize using live mode.
with gparted
ensuring nothing has the key icons , which mean in-use
Where is the live mode?
so boot from a different iso like in a USB?
I hope I'm not disturbing, why is unallocated, /dev/sda5, and /dev/sda6 in a dropdown under sda4?
cuz it's all contained in an extended partition
I'll try to boot back up again on my mint installer
I might be dumb, but that sure is the first time I've heard of one.
Alright so I did some simple resize -> and put that thing inside of the extended partition again, what should I do next?
move the thing with esp flag to the far left within the extended partition
then move the linux partition,
then grow it (resize) it toward right, click drag its right edge
The EFI?
esp
Where to?
put 0 in first field, then hit Tab
It gave me a warning, that my system wouldn't boot
always oes that
Alright so "OK" button it is
Should I click the ✅ symbol now or should I do something before doing that?
Oh okay, should I resize my ext4 so it takes up the unallocated space right? I almost forgot
yep
yeah that looks right
Should I do something with /sda1, /sda3, and the last unallocated space (though that one was normal, I heard) before leaving the iso? Because i think they are leftovers from Windows
apply the big checkmark first
Yeah it's doing the magic rn
i'd just leave the others alone
if you're dying to get the 423 MB back, u can read up on how to grow an extended partition. Wouldn't touch p1 tho
Alright it's done, I log off and go to the actual OS now?
Yeah everythings all good now, nothing changed and now I can finally use Mint as a daily now, thank you !
I can finally format my friends shady USB back to FAT32 and give it back lol
you could even from here delete sda3, and make a new volume there
and put daily comics there.
or slap some mp3s in it
it's a good idea to get one of your own. keep the Mint ISO as an emergency environment if ever needed.
I'll probably just format them too and extend the partition once more tbh, if I had the time to boot from USB again
Yeah, I'm looking for an 8GB drive atm but ironically they are quite hard to find on online stores lmao
you can buy a bigger one, ventoy it. then u can have it bootable and keep backup files or whatever on it
