Win 10 EOL is october this year and sadly or depending on how you look at it, gladly linux mint is my next best option. However i do play a lot of certain games with certain funnyyyyy anti cheats that hate linux and also a lot of old modded/small indie modded indie games that do have workarounds for linux but are an absolute pain. So i still need to dual boot and currently im broke and jobless so i cant afford a separate drive.
My current win10 install is over a year old and its using 109GB, how much storage space is enough for linux mint? Im thinking either to do half and half or 132 gb for windows and 100 for mint.
#Is a 250gb (232gb available) SSD enough for a dual boot of win 10 + mint cinnamon?

Whatever goes for Mint can be your second option when you have them share a single drive.
The sizes of your partition are up to your need. Estimate it properly.
Generally speaking though, practical minimum for Windows 10 would be around 100GB. Better if you can allot more.
As for Mint, the practical minimum hovers around 20GB. If you plan to store a lot of files in its partition, I suggest you allot more, preferably 100GB, like you said.
If you're sharing files between them, I'd suggest making another partition, specifically for files.
Not sure about games though, I don't play much nor do I dualboot still.
well heres the thing, i will barely store anything in either partition, plan to have just the OS itself
but i guess yeah i will allocate as much as i can to windows, since that will still be the main gamerrrr OS (specially since dayz sometimes likes to collect 20gb worth of crash reports in the windows partition) Thanks for the reply
No worries mate, my pleasure.
I'm kinda worried about what titles you own though, 132GB would be barely enough from what I've heard.
ah nah dont worry aboot it
those crash reports do self delete eventually
i dont play dayz that much anymore anyways and now when i do whenever im done i check to see if the folders got filled up
one thing im kinda on the fence about is minecraft, idk whether i should play it in windows or mint from now on, because from what ik it runs great on both maybe even better on linux since its a java game and i believe it doesnt even use Directx anyway
