when logging into Cinnamon Wayland, it just gives me a black screen. pressing ALT+F7 gives me the error of the image. X11 works fine, so no biggie I guess.
only thing that helps me escape the not functional Wayland is 'systemctl reboot' in ALT+F1 to ALT+F6 instances.

Keep in mind that wayland is still experimental in mint. And that error isn't related to wayland
