(MATE DE) I'm trying to customize my panel by adding Cairo or Plank dock, but every time I open an app, it still appears on the old dock I had. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

yeah you have to get into MATE panel preferences.

and remove an item called 'task list' or 'window list'
