Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well! I’m reaching out to ask for some assistance. Just as pressing Ctrl+Alt+T opens the terminal, I’m wondering if there’s a way to create custom keyboard shortcuts for other software and applications to launch them quickly. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I use Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE (64-Bit)

xfce should have a keyboard settings section with a shortcuts tab

it has, it's really useful, If the keybind should be more complex, you can create a .sh file and run it with a keybind

You can create custom keyboard shortcuts like this:

  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Keyboard
  2. Open the "Application Shortcuts" tab
  3. Click “Add”, enter the app command (e.g., firefox), and press your desired key combo (e.g., Ctrl + Alt + F)

That’s it! Your shortcut is ready to use.

perhaps win+v and win+g

It's still hard to make a shortcut with FN keys though, it doesn't get recognized the same way a normal key would do.
