Last year after installing Linux Mint, I made the mistake of installing the Nvidia drivers manually. Want to uninstall them so I can use the ones recommended by the Driver Manager.

Can anyone confirm if this is the right way to do it?

sudo apt remove nvidia-*
sudo apt autoremove
sudo apt autoclean

you could do it that way, or use Synaptic Package Manager (install if necessary) . click on "Status" in the left Sections part. Then click on "Installed" above. then comb the list of all things named nvidia that show in green tickboxes. mark each for complete removal.

then set the one you want in Driver manager after. (make sure secure boot is off, else no work at all)
