#How to make alt+Printscreen ALWAYS just copy straight to the darn clipboard?

in Cinnamon, go to Settings: Keyboard> Shortcuts tab. Unassign the function for the current thing which does a windowed screenshot on alt-print, and find the thing you want for windowed shot straight to clipboard, and assign it as fit.
Where do i go from here?
dammit muscle memory
Where from here?
wait i found it... but which one is "Take a screenshot and automatically copy it to the clipboard"?
Take a screenshot of the current window is what alt+printscreen currently is, but i just want that automatically and instantly in the copy buffer
i really dont understand why its not set to do that automatically
it would be kind of weird if it was default just gonna do some invisible and unknown thing.
second-last option in last picture is what you want.
How do i put the command in?
then see what it says at very bottom
but that is just to delete it and try again... and it does the same thing again, thinks I pressed ALT+L when I pressed ALT+Printscreen
is the Printscreen key on your system on a 2nd-level or has its very own button?
altL means u pressed the left Alt key. u have to squeeze alt**+**Prntcr
erh what
press and hold alt (either one) AND then press printscreen key.. to set it. for half second, basically. then it's done
so if i press Printscreen, it says i pressed "Print" but when I press left alt it's ALT L, but i cant press them both together... its not allowed?
ofc u can press them together!!
that's what i just said to do.
if it doesnt take it, then idk wtf is up
but when I do that it just gives me "ALT L"
clear the prior shortcut that the default system has (alt+prnt)
the original function that launch an interactive thing to "save" or whatever
CTRL+V not working
where are u attempting to paste in
discord to show screenshot
ALT+K as a new shortcut works when I press both together, it brings up "ALT L + K"
open something like "drawing" app from start menu, and paste there.
but wont do the same with ALT+Printscreen
shrugs
now u can make ur shortcut however u want, so play around til u find something that works.
what now ALT on it's own is acting like alt printscreen
why is this so damn complicated?
There we go thats what i was saying
Alt l + Printscreen doesnt work, but Alt+K does
something's gone weird. try unassigning all what u did. then do a clean reboot.
fyi, it's a 3 seconds job. so idk why u got trouble.
unless you got some kind of exotic keyboard , or wrong keyboard layout/ model
open text editor.. highlight some text, and try ctrl-c, then ctrl-v on a new line
then try Alt+f while the text editor is open. It should open the File menu of it.
Alt+F2 should open a run box
i dont know why its so dam hard lol
it can recognise both buttons, but wont recognise them together
