p for "projector" . This has been a common thing in Windows since days of laptops with a VGA port, to switch to external conference projector from the presenter's laptop.
multiple presses will toggle between all display screen options.

did u try holding win key, then slowly tapping the p key?
do that and I'm sure it will cycle to a satisfactory output mode
if not, install arandr, if you're on an x.org-based graphical platform
arandr allows to save profiles, and you can call each up via the arandr GUI, or by double-clicking the profile scripts where they're stored (and link them onto desktop)
