there's a version of discord in software manager delivered via flatpak that'll update automatically for you
if you want to stick with tar.gz, try following method 3 here: https://itsfoss.com/install-discord-linux/#traditional-method
how to update via software manager?
I downloaded from there so.
when you open software manager and open the 3 bars and click "installed applications" is discord there
because if you installed discord via software manager, you should get a notification on the shield icon and it'll show updates for all your applications
open the shield icon toward the right of your taskbar on the bottom and hit refresh to check for updates
does not show any
tried it
can you go to your settings and copy-paste what version of discord you're currently running
like scroll down and see what it says below log out and the social media buttons
i am on web
i need to update discord to get back in app
okay yeah actually you dont have the flathub version of discord installed
get rid of the one that currently has a green checkmark and install the flathub version thats rated 3.7
okay
it'll automatically give you the latest version without messing with manual installs
okay lemme see
Will update you after download
Okay its fixed as of now. Hope it stays same. Thank you @dawn crest.
