i5 10400f gtx 1650 yet barely hitting 30 fps on half life 2, using the non proprietary driver helped a little but system is overall still really slow (problem not present on windows)

try the 470 nvidia driver. secure boot must be off for any proprietary driver to work

check mokutil --sb-state in terminal

south scarab
#

ok

umbral mist
#

see what it reports

south scarab
#

it's enabled

umbral mist
#

that's why

#

it worked like shit

south scarab
#

oooohhhh, i see

umbral mist
#

cuz it never even applied

south scarab
#

i'm rebooting and seeing if that changed anything

umbral mist
#

yeah go to BIOS

#

Disable secure boot fully if option is there. some uefi are such a pain to deal with for that

south scarab
#

okok

#

once i do that, should i use the most recent driver, or keep the open source one?

umbral mist
#

try switching to 470, then reboot so it can apply

#

then do inxi -G to be damn sure it has. then play a game
