I tried installing a package with apt-get, and then it just started removing a ton of other packages. It is completely my fault for not looking at the output closer before okaying it to install. After that I restored a timeshift profile. When it restarted, it got stuck on the device splash screen. Not the linux mint logo, but the asus rog logo of the laptop. My dual booted windows installation still works fine. What can I do about this?
#Wont boot after timeshift

make sure windows fast startup is off, first of all,
then check bios "boot" category for proper order
It is off. It's trying to boot into Linux, but it is stuck on the device splash screen. I can go to the bios and manually boot into windows, which works
I dont have a live usb on me right now, but I will try to restore a timeshift again once I can
So you never get to the Grub menu? Then you should live boot and try the restore from there. Failing that, you can also do a boot repair to get Grub back, since this sounds like it was damaged in some way.
