#different refresh rates on wayland

i am using wayland on the latest linux mint build and 1 monitor is 165hz with the other being 60hz. they are both different resolutions. both monitors seem to run at 60hz, even if the 165 is set to 165, if there is anyone other than the desktop on the second monitor. is there anything i can do to get the main one to run at 165 all the time?
