I recently finished played Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and it ran with no issues and worked perfectly without having todo anything. Being excited I tried moving on to the next game, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
However, this game had a number of problems being able to run. After some troubleshooting came across this post:
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/8408#issuecomment-2657340142
and followed the steps there.
It fixed the textures not being able to load, however, there were still other graphical issues with exploding triangles or something, as others in same thread have reported.
At the time I was running Nvidia Driver 535.183.01, and I think the latest that was avaliable in Driver Manager was 560? I don't quite remember. I however knew from what other people have posted that a 570 Driver should exist somewhere, so I tried to somehow install that. After bit of more random googling I came across this thread:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=439818
I proceeded to follow all the steps in this thread as well. It worked great after the initial install, and the game didn't have exploding geometry anymore, though still a few issues of stuttering.
However, this is when the problem begins though. After a reboot, only 1 of my monitors would be turned on, and run at 60hz. I have two 144hz monitors. It seemed my Linux Mint would no longer detect my Nvidia Drivers or load them or I dunno, something is wrong.
Every attempt at changing the drivers or uninstalling and reinstalling them all give me the same error. I followed countless threads online and nothing really worked. I figured it some something related to my Kernel and figured out how to boot into an older version xanmod, that somehow worked, until today, when after a restart this one is also now broken, and attempts at reinstalling generic kernels have caused them to not function anymore because of error.
Post too long for more information, attached screenshots of errors I could find.
