I think favorite apps are on the sidebar. But if you want it as a menu category, you can download Cinnamenu applet, that is a bit more customizable

it may be worth right-clicking the cinnamenu in the panel, and check 'configure'

Check settings - keyboard - layout - settings

#

options

#

And you need to add japanese layout then

#

Yeah, the one with the flag should be the main one, does it change the layouts if you click it?

#

Maybe I misunderstood? You need 2 keyboard layouts English and Japanese, yes?

#

Let's see... first on the layouts page, click + and add Japanese layout

#

Ok, but if you added the layout, if you click on the flag, it should allow you to switch to japanese yes?

#

So if you type something with a Japanese flag does it still give you English?

#

Ok.... let's see.... Back in the settings, there should be an imput method section, choose Japanese from the left side and follow instructions

#

No, go back to the settings (where you clicked keyboard)

#

yes

#

try to follow instructions

it's old, but might still work

To be able to type Japanese on Linux you will need Ibus Anthy
Use this command and follow the instructions from the video :3

sudo apt-get install ibus-anthy
