#filesystem full with 100's of Gigabytes unaccounted for

my /home mount partition is full (1 TB) but home itself is only 340 GB, that's MOST of the space unaccounted for, turning my computer completely off and on again didn't help so it can't be files held from deletion, the filesystem is BTRFS btw

this might also belong in mint-support or linux-support? the naming scheme is confusing to me

solved it, turns out i had my home directory covered by timeshift so i disabled that option, created a new snapshot and deleted all my old snapshots, now i'm down to 50% usage which is still more than i can account for but much less alarming
