Using a 2014ish dell latitude series laptop
Live booting from usb with cinnamon 22.1 works, unless a otherwise working fine sata ssd is present
When booting in compatability mode calls a "can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs/) on filesystem.squashfs" error
Boot order is configured properly to boot into the usb
#live boot not working when ssd present

also try not to use compatibility-mode boot. Generally that's a red flag from the start.
