#My Screenshot Applet doesn't react to the first click after boot, needs to be clicked twice

I Use Mint 22 Cinnamon and it's my only OS on this hardware. I use the screenshot applet that I found at "Download" tab. Its exact name is ScreenShot (ScreenShot@tech71). I'd like to have it work at the first click, not have to do it twice. Is there any solution to it?

My guess is that there's some daemon (I don't know if I'm calling things as they should be called, forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm a newbie) that's responsible for the Applet that's not starting with boot and needs to be activated. But I have no idea on how to follow with that, like check what's the daemon's name etc and all the terminal commands. My guess can also be completely wrong. Or I may be using an outdated screenshot tool. If that's the case, then please recommend me another.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Boot the system
  2. Attempt to take a screenshot by using ScreenShot@tech71
  3. Does nothing
  4. Repeat step 2
  5. Now it works as it should
  6. Now the Applet is working properly and every next time it will capture the screenshot as expected

so I would just bind keybindings to the actual command invoked which I think is gnome-screenshot

crystal wharf

both of them work pretty good and are quick and customizable

zenith rampart
#

will they work as an applet?

crystal wharf

flameshot works in taskbar and as a bind and can be cropped to fit what part of the screen you want. it also has post screenshot editing tools as well

#

it can also be run though command line

so I can replace what I have rn with flameshot and have the same utility?

I don't see it as an applet but it's an app on my system. So if I make it start with the system then it will behave as any applet would and won't take too much space right?

oh it has launch at startup option in configuration

crystal wharf

zenith rampart
