Your first stop when trying to run a game is ProtonDB. The reports from other users can give you hints how to make it work. This one is running well for many people: https://www.protondb.com/app/582160

#

From these reports, some users shared commands they entered in launch options. You will find this field if you right-click on a game in the Steam library and go through the options in there.

im gonna try running lutris, getting ubisoft through it, and then updating steam. to go back to ubisoft and correct the pathing so that it runs the game. dont know if its gonna work yet though

so... i set up lutris fine. next was ubisoft which is okay. but now wehn steam goes to intal the game, it crashes and restarts continuously, opreventing the install

#

this is how far i get and then steam crashes

tried just completely restarting with a new install, and it seems fine up until i start the game on steam (not using lutris and only using the steam deb package)

#

the catch is that it doesnt detect ubisoft connect at all, and idk where to put directoriesif i even need to do that

Are you sure you need Ubisoft Connect for this? The ProtonDB entries do not mention it, which means that it is either not needed, or that Steam will handle it for you.
If you do something trough Lutris, the environment you create is separate from Steam. So if you get Ubisoft Connect through Lutris, I think you also need to run the game through it.

atp i just want whatever makes the damn game work

Unless somebody else here has an idea, your best bet is following what the folks on ProtonDB are doing.

#

I think its a sort of anticheat issue bc i install ubisoft but it still doesnt detect it

#

Regardless of the OS or directories
