#How to dual boot by installing Windows onto Linux?

is it a single or dual drives setup?
That is risky. Windows regularly destroys other operating systems, since it assumes it is alone on any given device. As you were told, create the NTFS partition in advance, this should allow you to point the Windows installer at it. But no guarantees. Also, you will probably need to do a boot repair afterwards to make Linux bootable again.
The easy and recommended way is Linux after Windows.
