duplicate icon in dock

can someone tell me why applications like my browser (LibreWolf) or the Heroic games Launcher are always displayed twice in my dock (Plank) when I have them open and don't just get a small dot under the program like discord, for example?

Where can I find them?

Right click on the menu and choose settings, then go to menu tab and open menu editor, find the programs and click "edit desktop file"

Alternatively, they are located in

/usr/share/applications

and

.local/share/applications

in your home folder
