I bought a wifi adapter card, and installed it. The port for it is a PCIe x1, but my MB only had an x16 slot, but I was informed this was fine. Anyways, after installing it my PC doesn't recognize that it exists. What to do?

Although, I do have an M.2 WiFi adapter port as well

The connection on the motherboard is an x16, but the connector on the card is an x1
