vpn l2tp unable to successfully connect

as title states, my job requires me to remote in, on windows it works fine, but i want to get it working on mint22 as well.

i assume i have all the packages installed that i require after digging around the web for answers, but after setting everything up with l2tp connection, it just fails to connect. i am unsure what i may be missing for this, as some updates may have come out that break some things that i am unaware of. has anyone else gotten their own l2tp vpn connection working on their mint 22?

my desktop is running debian mint 22, with the xfce desktop.

any sources or shared experiences are appreciated.

Your work may have a very specific software and configuration that is required to connect

The first thing I would ask is for help from your IT department as far as getting that working. It's also possible that they won't explicitly support other platforms but may or may not let you support yourself/seek support and use it if you can get it working

If they can't directly support your configuration they may still be able to give you general guidelines or info

You may also ask around if others at your workplace are connecting from Linux
