It is an officially supported method by the Stremio devs. Also it looks like the deb package they provide may not support 24.04+. Jammy or Mint 21 provides libmpv1. Noble or Mint 22 provide libmpv2. Other than using the flatpak the only recourse is to ask the dev to update their build

thank u all of u for ur help but I know that theres a flatpak ver. The only reason why i wanted non flatpak cuz i cant use mpv on flatpak version for some stupid reason

you can't use a flatpak version because most flatpaks are self contained and often constrained from accessing the filesystem

there is basically no reason to suspect a flatpak version of mpv would satify the dep nor expect a flatpak version to be able to use system mpv

you can however modify what a flatpak can see and will use
