I know this comes up every so often and I realize mint is a “consumer” distro but I would love to see a minimal version. Now to avoid the usual overthink on what “minimal” means I want something I don't have to debloat. So leave off Thunderbird, Matrix, Transmission and the never sufficiently darned Libreoffice.
We have the Software manager if we want to add things, stop trying to include the kitchen sink.
Thanks for reading this and thank you for the wonderful distro. The only distro that works with all my hardware which is why I don't want to jump to another.

Beyond omission of a modest number of apps what would a minimal version thereof look like? Have you looked at any other minimalist distributions? On a very old resource constrained laptop I found void very useful if lacking in some of the user friendliness of Mint.

A "minimal" version could just be debian with cinnamon downloaded

#

Or normal mint but you manually remove the things you don't want, since there aren't that many things

removing a few desktop apps wouldn't make it particularly minimal

#

keep in mind that most apps don't actually do anything when not actively being run other than take up hard drive space

moving form cinnamon to xfce is an actual change in mininmalism systemd -> something like runit is minimal
