idk what the deal is with that. Unless the bluetooth thing in the volume / mixer program is switching from HiFi mode to cheap-sounding Handsfree mode

in which case, you may be able to use the program pavucontrol to set profiles right, and set output devices right, and click the 'use as fallback' check icon
