you could use gparted-live iso (or gparted on any live distro's iso) to pre-delete the Mint partition. dont touch the EFI one

If you just install other distro it should rewrite grub, if you just wan to keep windows use something called "super grub disc" live iso that was created for these problems. https://www.supergrubdisk.org/super-grub2-disk/
It can uninstall grub keeping your windows bootloader or fix its configuration.
Super GRUB2 Disk helps you to boot into most any Operating System (OS) even if you cannot boot into it by normal means. Tour Here there is a little video tour in order to discover most of Super Grub2 Disk options. The rest of the options you will have to discover them by yourself.
