yes
So they are all like looked through and legit?
they contain copies. if you're on windows now, check the MS store for some free "sha256 check" tool
then use that to verify the downloaded iso
compare the hash string to the right one in the sha256.txt file on the Mint site download area
while u wait for the download, read this pdf.. it still applies #1272611699341660241 message
sorry for being stupid but i can't find that tool but can i already start downloading the iso file or am i at risk of getting a virus by it or smth like that?
so i download the iso file and search for the tool?
checksum verifier
yes
actually u can also get ventoy, it's to prepare the bootable usb and comes with the veriify tool
www.ventoy,net
see this link #1272646172175237201 message
when you boot with the ventoy usb, the 2nd screen will have that
ventoy's better
and no u cant verify an iso once you have installed it. kind of pointless to do that if ur worried it's broken or malware
this?
the computer u want to install linux on. when was it made?
like 2 years ago
alright quite new
after you unzip the ventoy package, have your USB inserted, then run ventoy2disk
then go to Option menu, Partition style
and pick GPT
then make sure the correct USB drive is shown , then click install
after your mint iso finishes downloading, COPY and PASTE it to the new EMPTY ventoy usb
^^ have a good read thru that for both install and for orientation. note: ignore the info printed there for the windows sha256 tool and link. it doesnt work anymore. @mortal tusk
