I'll watch from the distance
bro it is not that bad.... i just will start installing it and i will come again ok...and thank you alot
Remember this
Try looking up the answer online, if that doesnt work come here and ask
To Answer your question The Software Manager is basicly like a Microsoft store for Mint, it has a bunch of prepacked applications in it that you can simply install with the click of a button
yeah i always do that but i said that better i ask first then i start
yeah i understood that thx
I say dual boot since you want to be careful
عربي؟
ايوه يباشا
though not all software can be found on it. you might have to use apt. which is the packagemanager (basically a glorified digital postal office) of Debian Based Installations while ones like Arch use Pacman
والله حلو اني لقيت عربي
nah dual boot is bad
yeah thx broo
على راسي
اتعرف عليك اكتر بقى بس لما انزله
I didnt dual boot when I started since I already had some terminal knowledge (for my MC server) and I live booted to see if my programs would work
ايش مواصفات كومبيوترك

have fun! heres a little list for what to do when you first full boot
- Change your Driver with the Preinstalled Driver Manager Tool to the lastest to date one
- Update your system with the Preinstalled Update Mint Manager
3.Open Terminal and get aquianted with it, theres hundreds of cheat sheets for Debian(Ubunut) Based Systems https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/244
Linux Mint - Community
Commands list
(not that you exclusively need them) just learn for fun if u want
Its basically "here you go, all you really need"
XD
live video of the cat guy
guys
now i am on linux mint
please how to setup wine and what to do???
and isn't there any screenshot programs?
which one
search the start menu for screenshot. you may right-click the result, and add to Panel
yeah thanks
none. playonlinux is no more. read the general chat.
now how to install wine
i can't understand
open terminal and type the command
you could get it from software manager but you have to enable unverified flatpaks
i am doing flatpak command thanks
sure. then, you can just open lutris from the application launcher and add your program (if not available natively)
it never gonna end
ps. there are 3 main ways to get software
- software manager (native packages and packages that say flatpak)
- terminal (apt, flatpak commands)
- websites (some apps will provide you with a .deb file to install, you just download it and double click, like on windows)
application launcher?
it's installing all the dependencies, give it time 😛
start menu, whatever you call it.
i did website one for discord 😆
oh nice
any other tips so i don't get lost?
not really
:(
you can setup timeshift
timeshift?
it's in your start menu
oh yeah i saw it eariler
but what does it do
cause i see that it did alot of something like scaning so i canceled
allows you to create snapshots of your system
snapshots?
so in case something seriously breaks, you can just shift to when it was working
sorry for all these questions but this is my first time
oh makes sense now
not sure what other word, but rollback your system?
i think nice one
type welcome in the start menu, and go over all the stuff slowly.
yeah i am doing it but still not enough
@muted knoll how to enable unverified flatpaks?
not sure
"firewall"what is that program for?
setting up your firewall. just check it to be enabled and youre good to go
that's to block unwanted and unsolicited network calls your LAN card or Wifi card
technically, it can block outgoing stuff as well if u really want to manage what programs are allowed to use the internet
yez xd
what are all those text characters???
now what?
what do you want to do?
this is the terminal
never seen that output
he just smashed his keyboard it seems
game ranger, roblox, minecraft, etc...
can you just teach me how to use?
anyway carry on with Lot's help
i didn't do that
okay. so you use wine/lutris for non-steam games and games that aren't supported on Linux. Minecraft is, Roblox is, game ranger idk what is, so look it up online.
now it is normal
ok then.... can you teach me on roblox?
for Minecraft, you can download an unofficial launcher from flatpak or the Mojang one, I use SKlauncher (from their website)
isn't there bedrock edition so i play with my friends?
for Roblox, look up "vinegar sober Roblox" and install. then download the Roblox .apk from the apkmirror and add it to sober when it asks you for it. mind you, this is an unofficial client and Roblox may block it in some future, so windows is the only reliable way
not sure as I don't use it, but just look it up on the internet
overhelmed so.....
how can i open task manager?
and this is the last question
i think bedrok one is in software manager?
it's in the start menu
system monitor I believe
and how to see my computer specs like ram and this?
same app
there's a dedicated app, Its called I believe system info
as well as Info app
nah
and if u want very deep details, install hardinfo
it's right there
aka "system profiler and benchmark"
oh yeah
for steam games, just use steam
native games are .. native
you only really use lutris for non-steam games that aren't on Linux
just java
minecraft bedrock launcher
yeah understood
2nd line 3rd position
1.18?
always get in habit of reading te details, size, and dependencies
it's just a showcase screenshot
good night
nah not alot but now i started to know how to add games
@buoyant thunderbro you said you could teach me things about linux....can you please teach me now
firstly, what do you want to know?
is there smth like updates or smth important i have to do?
it's all in the update manager
in your taskbar
you didn't read the welcome screen
i did and saw all of that but i didn't care for it
well, the first time updating always like this. next time you update, it'll be a few mb
oh
when i start (Resident evil 4 original 2005)
it opens but the game is very slow that i can't even walk or see the things in it
how to fix that?
and yesterday i tried to open a game called SWAT 4
it sends me an error...
but when i tried again today it opens and black screen forever
bro the remake one won't work on my pc.... i mean the old one that released on 2005
- press add a non-steam game
- select the .exe like you did with lutris
- right click, game options and enable compatibility
- run
great idea
but i will wait for updates to end first then i download steam 🥲
bro i was like a king on my chair when i was on windows :(
why did i change?
i know and it is on the software manager i think
it's old
from website it'll work better
oh thanks for the advice
sorry but another question....
how can i do more customization on my linux?
and isn't there a way to put "my computer" on the desktop?
uhh settings>desktop
oh let's gooo
you can add desklets (like they were on windows 7)
thanks alot
do you recommend me anything?
I use transparent panel and watermark
oh thank you very much
It's up to you really.
I'd just recommend you to look at everything there is and choose what you would find useful.
Applets are cool a well btw, I use a bunch of them myself
