Hey

#

So my dad has been using Linux Mint 21 for a while now, and it's been great.
Today, I told him that he should update to the new LM 22 Wilma. So he did. Before that though, he installed some updates including a Kernel update from the update manager (nothing unusual, just saying because I don't know if that affects the issue). Everything went good with the upgrade to v.22, however, the login window that appears after booting suddenly started flickering really fast (Turning black and going back repeatedly), for no reason at all. It all works, but the flickering is really upsetting, and I can't explain it. It only takes place when connected to a monitor. when using the built-in laptop display with the monitor disconnected, it's all fine.
I installed gdm, and that one also worked fine - The issue only takes place when using the stock linux mint lightdm.

Hopefully y'all can assist me with this :)

Must be some issue caused by lightdm along with the external monitor, and I really don't have anything that old to test with
