#How to reinstall kernel

Bluetooth is not working (no icon in toolbar, no devices detected, not working even when trying two different bluetooth adapters which have always worked before), after many internet searches, commands, restarts and failed attempts.
Computer dual boots with another instance of LMDE 6 and Bluetooth works on that fresh install just wonderfully.
However, that is a fresh install and this instance has all the data and settings and it would be nice to fix bluetooth on this one.
Perhaps reinstalling the kernel will fix it (the new install works fine, so it seems this might help this instance here)?
How is the right way to reinstall the current kernel for LMDE 6?

Not sure if you got Update Manager there. if you do, open it. choose the 'view' menu. > linux kernels

#

see which is active, and if any other shows as installed.

#

if it's just the one active and installed, then adding a higher version one should put it into effect automatically next reboot.

#

if you want to try a slighly older one, select and install it; next reboot, press and hold shift or escape the instant Linux is about to start, right after BIOS splash. go to Mint advanced options. choose older image.

What shall I do if Update Manager > View is there but no > Linux Kernels option is shown?
The only options present in the view menu are:

"Visible Columns"
"Show Descriptions"
"History of Updates"
"Information"

Ok, above question remains. However, looking in the help, I learned that we can choose advanced options in Grub at boot time and select other kernels.
Current: 6.1.0.23 - no luck
6.1.0.22 - no luck
6.1.0.12 - no luck

There is a recovery mode with each of these boot options; what does that do, and might it fix Bluetooth so that there will be a bluetooth icon in the toolbar and so I can start using it again?

Update Manager should have something like "view linux kernels" in the View menu. If not, use Synaptic to search up and install the linux- image you want and corresponding linux headers.

#

You may also uninstall other 6.1.0.xx linux image from Synaptic

#

and even lock the version you prefer from there, usung the package menu.

#

Bluetooth (and Wifi, and sound, and storage, and most video) drivers are directly tied to the kernel, so yes changing such may fix it.

Since I tried booting other kernels in the advanced Grub options and Bluetooth didn't work with any of them (even though Bluetooth had worked when each of those kernels were the current version), is there a possible Cinnamon/UI issue not allowing the Bluetooth icon to show in the menubar?

Or should we expect a differnt result if uninstalling and reinstalling vs. jsut booting into that different kernel?
