#Can't Access my Local Disks

Why do you want to paste them there and not your Linux Home?
because those drives have 1tb worth of space and i need to send these files are way large and will waste space of my SSD
Are you using Linux Mint Cinnamon edition?
yup
Open a terminal and run sudo nemo. It will open a new window with elevated privileges. This may allow you to paste
even with that i can't paste the files
I have due to some reason access to the old files that were in that local disk in windows
which is weird because i thought that i totally removed everything
if that helps
Then I don't know, sadly. You'll have to Google your issues and/or wait for someone to help you here. I'm not the most familiar with Linux partitions, but it looks like the partition you're trying to paste to is read-only. If you don't mind destroying all of the information on the partition, you could use GParted to format it
uhhhh if this continues i might have to go back to windows ig since i can't just give up 1 tb worth space
There's a Disks app that comes with Linux Mint that you can use to visualize your paritions
You can probably use that to fix it somehow
You can select the one you want to paste to and maybe try mounting it or unmounting it and trying

No need. Just properly format your drives
Probably NTFS owned by root or something
It would have been better to tell him to just take screenshots instead of showing him a subreddit like that
yup i formatted one drive even broke the partition and it seems to be working now
i mean i can just search up an app or shortcut but i was too busy in this shit
I know, I was just telling the other guy theres a better way to tell people to take screenshots lol
ahhh finally got the option to copy and paste
Glad you fixed it
yea

Most of the times, drives may be owned by root or not properly formatted. Using disks solves this
yup it wasn't formatted so i went to disks and formatted it properly
and that's how it's working
disks should ask you if you want it for data and such
so, it properly chowns it for you to your user
mark this as solved
@modest trail May I mark it as solved?
you can
Ok
