I might want to file a bug report. Linux Mint does not seem to be able to detect the lid closing. I've checked with both Cinnamon and KDE and in bith instances closing the lid prompts no reaction with any setting configuration (wether I set it to lock, hibernate or shut down, on battery and on charge, it doesn't change). The screen does turn off, but the OS remains unchanged. The weird thing is that it does exit suspension when I open the lid back up. I'm running the latest kernel on a Lenovo V15-IIL.
Another detail is that I've checked with evtest an event titled "Lid Switch" and it didn't react to me closing and opening the monitor. Though I'm not 100% sure if this has to do with the issue at hand.
