try sudo fsck /dev/sdb2 to do an error check on that partition.

Because unless it was encrypted, then I don't see why it says Unknown and shows no mount icon below.

the journal is just like a backup of changes that were done.. not super versed in it, but that's the gist

reboot the pc, and check now. it should show up in DISKS and be readable.
