106 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Steps to reproduce: install snap, reboot
I'm not sure what other description I can give..
remove snaps then
Can't boot though.. how am I supposed to remove snap without booting?
you can chroot then remove it
requires a ventoy usb with mint iso
Can't get one right now.. am I able to use recovery mode.?
idk, best way is to chroot from a flash drive
you can try, as long you can get a TTY
TTY: fullscreen terminal
There is a tty in recovery mode right..?
root?
root one should work
I can't see your screen, so
I've selected root..
???
run apt purge snapd
it mentions removing the 5.15 kernel headers and such. you may like to install a newer kernel
nope
you need the package name
I can't access my mint vm rn to get the package name
Oh..
but apt list linux should help
I don't run mint so
"listing done"
Hold on
That's all it says
uname -r also helps
then you replace the version it prints with the latest version
I don't know the latest version
nope, that's outdated
also, idk if you're connected to the internet
show output of ping -c4 archlinux.org
Oh right
that needs internet
try
apt install linux-headers-6.5.0-41-generic linux-image-6.5.0-41-generic linux-modules-iwlwifi-6.5.0-41-generic
that's the latest mint kernel
then apt update && apt upgrade && update-grub
And after that?
I haven't ran it yet
This is normal?
?
@weary compass
yes, it installed a newer kernel.
you may like to run what it suggest regarding ZFS
/sbin/modprobe zfs?
also run apt install linux-hwe-6.5-headers-6.5.0-41
After I do the zfs thing and this command will it be ready?
yes
do it at the end
did you ran the update command?
once you update the system and update-grub, you can try to reboot
That worked, thank you :)
so it boots as always?
Yep
also, you got a newer kernel, so more hardware support
use the update manager and install another kernel
so.. what you were trying to install that lead to snaps?
It works :)
use lutris for that
Ah alright
now, run timeshift and make a snapshot
Should I delete this one
flag this as solved
