[SOLVED] external harddrive is read only

previously i have used said external harddrive to back files up from fedora, and put them on linux mint. Now when im trying to backup files from mint to the harddrive, its saying that the harddrive format is read only and it doesnt let me backup anything on it. I urgently need help with that, thanks in advance

I would suggest use Archive Manager to make a new TAR archive. load it with files. Make a few of them if you want to keep it a bit organized. then Open file manager, right click in the blank spaces in file pane, "open as Root" . Use the rootmode file manager to move the tar files to the other drive.

you can also mess around with looking at the drive's owner/perms.
