How do I resize this thing in xfce? Is it even possible to begin with?

that is called the titlebar. Open Settings manager, see Window manager item. change theme of titlebars, there may be a slimmer one.

Do you happen to be familiar of HiDPI ones? I kinda find it a bit small for my liking

hiDPI makes the bar thiicker to compensate for very-high resolution (2K, 4K) making elements look tiny.

Use synaptic package manager to search up "xfwm4-themes" or "xfwm-themes"

#

Wallis is a nice one from that package.
