#No VRR when below native Resolution?

I heard there were some updates to this in recent driver versions. Since you only get these with fresh kernels, you may want to check if you can get on a newer kernel. The 6.5 branch is the newest that you can get through Update Manager. And Mint 22 will do away with the LTS kernels and have something pretty new, once it comes out around July.
Thx. I'll try a newer sub version of 6.5 then. Mesa is always up to date.
Seems it doesn't work...
The only other thing you can try is Wayland. High refresh rate, high resolution and dynamic refresh rate are the bane of X11, and the chief reasons Wayland was created. Support is only experimental in Mint, not feature-complete and with some extra bugs. If you want to try it, select the Cinnamon logo at login to choose your session.
Yeah, but gaming with Wayland in its experimental state is a pain. I gave it a try some weeks ago...
But maybe something changed with newer kernel...maybe I'll try it later after work
I know that I had extreme stuttering on Wayland in CS2 for examples
You could cross-check from a Nobara live environment. Nobara has kernel 6.7 in the image I used, and updates to a 6.8 one if you install. It has full Wayland support and it focused on solving this kind of issue.
Or you wait for Mint 22, which is due this summer.
Nobara is a distribution right? Then I have to reinstall and setup everything from zero...
No, I was just recommending you put the Nobara ISO on a flash drive and boot from that, to check in the live environment.
ah ok. I just tested Wayland experimental and this has some issues. CoreCTRL wont start etc...
Is it possible to install steam games on a live USB stick?
