I accidentally installed a .exe virus on my Linux Mint. Since Linux cannot execute .exe files (as far as I know), did I install a virus then?

The only way it could have executed is inside the Wine environment. Where it probably fizzled out. Just delete it. If Wine starts acting strange, purge it and reinstall the meta-package.
