LMD [Linux malware detect]

  • Installed packages
  • maldetect-1.6.5
  • Available functions
  • configuration nano /usr/local/maldetect/conf.maldet
  • Problem
  • Can not use maldet command [Scan command] (command doesn't exist)
    I was looking for reason why whole day and couldn't find anything. I hope i will find answer here.

either you're trying to run it by the wrong name (try maldetect) or it needs sudo first

try sudo maldet

if still not found, then do whereis maldetect

file exist but command doesn't

do cd /usr/local/maldetect

then from that path, try the commands again to launch

type ls -l there n show results

the executable files there are shown in light green. try simply maldet from that directory now.

I also have ClamAV. Can it be a reason?
