ping me when replying I don't check discord that often
@mild gyro in terminal sudo iwconfig wlp0s20f3 power off && sudo sed -i 's/3/2/' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf
@mild gyro See if it behaves better, if not, then reboot
fell back to zero
Try power cycling the router
running on mobile hotspot
also this doesn't happen on windows
I dual boot and use windows for gaming and never faced any issues with internet on windows
I doubt if it is related to hybrid shutdown in Windows
I disabled hybrid shutdown
its the same thing as fast boot right?
yes
yeah it's disabled
@mild gyro
have you tried updating your kernel
update manager > view > linux kernels
that could fix it, on the linux version that comes with mint bluetooth didnt work at all for me, but i upgrade to linux 6.5 and it works
especially if your on recent hardware
I could have likely got your bluetooth to work on 5.15
This guy is already using Kernel: 6.6.13-x64v3-xanmod1 x86_64
Post URL from terminal for> lsusb|nc termbin.com 9999
oh oops...
my motherboard is a ASUSTeK model: PRIME B550M-A WIFI II and it comes with the bluetooth
That ID is in my bluetooth-5.15 code on github 13d3:3563
It is one of them that are on the Mediatek 7921 wifi cards
Do you know what this device is> ID 0b05:1939 ASUSTek Computer, Inc. AURA LED Controller
not sure, as far as i can remember i just have an asus motherboard and asus amd gpu
sorry for the late reply
i also have led fans, but not asus as far as i know , they came with my deepcool case
I just ask because I was helping someone with Ubuntu the other day, USB issues and that was one of the devices
hm not sure, is there any other way to check for more details?
some component to control lights and stuff maybe?
It might be, I could find out too much searching for the USB ID
my pc does have some fancy lights... didnt choose them the parts just came with it
Might be something that changes the LED color
That could be back light
so no fix for this? it still keeps dropping to zero pretty frequently D:
Can you run the 2 commands at https://gist.github.com/jeremyb31/a2bee9856d8c13f42f1835bc31bf9480 in terminal and post the termbin.com URL after the second command is done
Can you give the hotspot a different name? Then connect to the new name and then in terminal ./wireless-info && cat wireless-info.txt|nc termbin.com 9999 post URL
using hostel wifi rn
i more palyer have same ssue do thisseee
Can you install LinSSID and monitor the signals and see if there is a strong signal appearing on 5GHz when it drops to 0
in 4g or 5ghz both signal droping
i insttaled linssid
You want to be looking at the time graph
@grave dagger #1211309079687995413 message
Are you using the wifi APs with Ariel in the name? Go into the router settings and turn off TKIP encryption
its nor fixing i thing again go to window but thxxxxxxx you very much @grave dagger i have to go on window ):
wait I just noticed something could it be a problem with the laptop? I just noticed the other person having the problem uses the same laptop as mine
Both using xanmod kernels too
hmm but I never had any problem with wifi in other distros I've used pop os and fedora before 🤔
should I try switching my kernel
cause this is my first time using xanmod kernel
if i goo than learn my laptop charge is only 3% or no light type solutions i try
I ran my computer on 6.5 kernel from Mint and switched my phone and hotspot to 5GHz and I didn't lose signal
alright I'll try switching back to default kernel
bro my signal is a point only or i am typing massage befor 2min but masaage sended after2 min
@grave dagger can you tell me how to install gta 5 in linux or some other game
see signel
@mild gyro
Might be able to play using Steam
@grave dagger valborant avillavil for linux
yea no development it's not the kernel
could it be some incompatibility with the laptop and drivers?
The problem with playing games or the wifi?
wifi
yes
I don't think is it some incompatibilty as Intel does a lot of the development of the linux drivers for their wifi devices. I prefer to have Intel wifi in my computers as they usually just work
this wifi thing is too inconvenient
temporary fix for me is restarting networkManager evertytime the wifi drops but it doesn't last long either
That sounds like power management but that should be disabled
cat /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf
@grave dagger anything else I can try ?
You could get mainline from github and upgrade to the newest kernel and see if it fixed this issue
this right?
yes
alr
The header are usually only needed for building out of tree kernel modules
okaky
didn't fix
Any chance of a loose antenna connection? Does it happen when connected to a 2.4GHz channel?
yeah problem persists on 2.4GHz channels as well
don't think it's a loose antenna connection since wifi works fine on windows
@grave dagger anything else I can tryy
Is the hotspot set to a set channel and not auto? It could be switching channels on you
