Hello Everyone!
I'm a new Linux Mint user (new to Linux in general).

I'm having a small issue:
After I boot, all the apps (e.g. Discord or Chrome) take 20 - 25 seconds to start.
However, after that initial slow start, if I close them and start them again, they all work fine, very fast and snappy.

I want to mention that I'm booting from an external SSD (Samsung T7) via USB-C 3.1.
Could the slow startup be because of this? Or is there something else I should investigate?

Thank you!

Solved.

The problem seemed to be the usb-c cable, 3rd party cable bought from amazon, made my average read speed 40mb/s

that sounds painfully slow for an SSD over USB 3
