click No on that.
When you clicked on Install Alongside, it should have given you a graphic rectangle to "stretch" whatever free space Windows had, and balance out that space with Linux Mint. I hope you got that.
cuz if u had already set up a free space partition, then you need to restart the installer from the beginning, and pick the "Something Else" option
I pressed yes and it then gave me the slide option
I have installed in on an external drive
lovely
a word of caution though. A removable, external hard drive (when disconnected) can sometimes cause the laptop to not boot off the internal drive. (this might not always be the case in UEFI boots though)
let us know if you experience issues.
Yeah will do thanks for the help. Everything seems to be running fine
do a shutdown of pc.. then try to reboot just from the laptop only with NO external drive connected, as a test
and also it's critical that you had earlier turned off "Fast Startup" inside of Windows.

Yeah dw everything is working fine
its not a laptop it is a pc anyway
ah excellent
Everything is happy, just a bit slow because it's on a hard drive lol
it's working fine right now, but if Fast Startup is still enabled in Windows, you'll see one day what happens to u
Its off lol
I need it off for some other software I use. Turned it off months ago
