file properties in Nemo - on any file or folder - shows permissions more clearly.
VLC Media player should have no problem at all playing old SWF files. if that is a Shockwave Flash video/animation
just drag the file onto an open VLC window.
Sorry for the late reply, I tried with vlc player but it doesnt work, you need to have this adobe flashplayer debugger to run it, it's an .flv-file.
However I found a linux alternative for it, but it doesn't allow me to run it, since I don't have the premission to do that. Linux doesn't have a windows like administrator system, I found out. But I wounder why I don't have the premission to do certain things, since I'm the only existing profile.
that's weird, I have old VLC, and i tested it with SWF files and it worked perfectly
do u just have a few files u want to view?
@peak plume
flv in that regard is different
course material, quite a lot
flv/ swf - vlc does them both
Let me try again
did u install multimedia codecs when u installled Linux?
that's weird in Linux it's playable in VLC

told u.
and i suspect the terminal app u were using must have been a flatpak
@peak plume ^
But it doesn't play the video and doesn't allow me to change the position in the video
let me check
multimedia codecs is on the newest version
yes, I just now realized they were swf files. I remebered incorrectly.... well this course is indeed quite quite old I tried to convert it into another file format now, like I tried in the past, but it fails due to some pixel error
I installed wine and ran the flashplayer 😄
Merciiii beaucoup for your help, once again ❤️
lol. it was all you this time. I was gonna suggest upload to online-convert.com, they do amazing job at converting video files under a certain size.
NIce website, the first one that converted the file succesfully, but I get a few images repeated over and over again instead of the video, audio works. Works perfectly with wine, that'S the most important thing.
You're here to help and not just me...that's highly appreciated!
