So I installed mint mate on an old pc I had lying around.
I first tried downloading via double boot with win 10 but that didnt work twice because apperantly Linux didnt download an EFI alongside mint mate 21.2. So I figured if I picked the option erase windows and download Linux, that it would use windows´EFI to boot itself. buuuuuut no.
Linux didnt boot and I looked for help on reddit. s.o. said to try booting on the usb stick again, which I did and then I chose the option of "boot from next volume" where I could choose between the stick and "another device" which ended up being Linux.

So I was happy that Linux finally booted and I set up stuff and did some updates but as I still had the worry of it not booting without the usb stick I wanted to see if it would boot now without help.
So I shut the pc down and started it again but linux wasn´t booting. I inserted the stick again to try that way but now it says security boot fail.

Now I am stuck, since I never managed to get Linux to autoboot and now can´t even use the usb stick to reinstall it or something..

Please someone help me!

(I should maybe add this info: This is my first time Linux and in general I do not have much knowledge when it comes to pc and tech stuff; meaning, I am a noob noob.)

Got to go in BIOS settings > Security section, disable Secure Boot

#

then you'll at least be able to run the USB

#

Boot to the live desktop with Mint USB, then run the Boot Repair program from the app menu
