@woeful charm do you have a usb?
Yes I don't have an empty flash drive though but I can grab one of needed
Sold out last time I checked
@woeful charm what does it have on it?
After Ubuntu finishes?
or on another pc/laptop
If you have important stuff on those USB drives, I suggest backing up that data to somewhere else because USB storage devices are unreliable
Yeah they're in a drawer
Man this dvd drive sounds like an old lawn mower
Nuts I think it actually died. Never hardly used it until now
I guess I should abort mission and shut down but the Ubuntu install cursor is still spinning
Oop it started up again after I hit esc
Yeah this isn't working
@woeful charm do you have a spare pc to install the iso to?
putting info on ssd's or harddrives is a good choice
My wife uses the usb sticks probably for work so I'm not concerned about that.
No only an iPad
OK I bought a 64gb flash drive 👌
@woeful charm now install ventoy
I installed ventoy and it certainly isn't a plug and play
My laptop takes 10 minutes to load any screen so this stuff is making me irate
If it's this complicated to simply load a Linux os maybe I'm in over my head
Balena etcher is very simple, but it doesn't have the same features
The only exe I found created a dialog box and I put in the usb sick with mint os but then ventoy formatted the usb and installed itself in the usb instead
